World's Fair Park

Historic Site or District

World's Fair Park is a park that once played host to the 1982 World's Fair. The theme of that year's fair was "Energy Turns the World." The park now is the site of gardens, a man made pond with open amphitheatre for performances, a children's play area, the South's Finest Chocolate Factory, the Knoxville Museum of Art and the Sunsphere. Visitors can take an elevator from the base of the Sunsphere up to an observation deck to see a 360-degree view of the city. There is no fee to go in the Sunsphere.
