Virtual Spring Wildflower Hike

Although unable to gather in person this year, TVA continues the tradition of inviting everyone to explore the amazing and beautiful world of wildflowers. Follow the link to join Natural Resource staff Brian and Chloe as they seek out some of spring's spectacular sprouters! Then head out on your own to see what you can find on TVA trails near you. You can find the perfect trail for you at tva.com/trails.

The TVA River Bluff Small Wild Area Trail is a National Recreation Trail as well as a Tennessee Scenic Trail, located on the TVA Norris Dam Reservation in Anderson County, TN. The 125-acre site features old growth hardwoods, pine plantations and rich pockets of wildflowers and ferns. Along the way you will notice steep bluffs overlook the mist-covered Clinch River. Although often concealed by lush vegetation, several types of birds and other wildlife inhabit the area.

HOW TO GET THERE:

From Knoxville, head north on I-75.

Drive approx. 20 miles to Exit 122 (Clinton/Norris).

Turn right onto Highway 61, and go approx. 1.5 miles (past the Museum of Appalachia) and turn left on U.S. Highway 441.

Follow highway 441 across Norris Dam.

Take the second left onto Dabney Rd. and immediately make a slight left turning down the hill.

Follow the signs to the River Bluff SWA. This road leads to the parking area and trailhead on your Right.
