Unclaimed Baggage Center

Glenn Wheeler

There will be plenty of shopping to do at Unclaimed Baggage Center. This one-of-a-kind store in Scottsboro is the final destination for lost luggage and cargo shipments from around the world.

As one of the top tourist destinations in Alabama, UBC welcomes close to 1 million visitors annually and on average the store employs 140 people. People travel from all over the world to find a treasure or a bargain. From a full suit of armor and a six-foot-tall paper mache Tinker Bell to a 40-carat natural emerald and an underwater training camera that belonged to NASA, UBC is a shopper’s paradise! Since its debut on the Oprah Show in 1995, hundreds of media outlets and publications have featured the store and its concept. UBC has been featured on programs such as the Today Show, CBS Early Show, Late Show with David Letterman and Travel Channel, written about in The Wall Street Journal, the Huffington Post, Travel and Leisure, the New York Times, and the list goes on and on.

Open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
