Tennessee River Blueway

The Tennessee River Blueway, starting downstream of the Chickamauga Dam and ending at the Nickajack Dam, is a 45-mile river journey with multiple access points for flat water canoeing and kayaking and camping sites along the way. The Blueway travels through downtown Chattanooga and the Tennessee River Gorge. This is a great day trip or multi-day expedition.

Access Points: Greenway Farm, Chickamauga Dam, Tennessee Riverpark, Rivermont Park, South Chickamauga Creek, Coolidge Park, Ross's Landing, Suck Creek Ramp, TVA Raccoon Mountain, Sullivan's Landing, Hales Bar Marina.

Camp sites: Maclellan Island, Williams Island, Pot Point, Prentice Cooper State Forest, Oates Island, Marion County Park & Campground, Shellmound Recreation Area & Campground.

The Tennessee River Blueway is an opportunity to experience the Tennessee River, Tennessee River Gorge and Nickajack Reservoir by human power. Keep this area clean and pack out all trash. Take in the beauty of the wildlife and appreciate the preserved watershed land.
