ADA Accessibility Notes

The canoe and kayak launch at the Tennessee Riverpark is accessible for people in wheelchairs and other assistance devices.

South Chickamauga Creek runs through the heart of downtown Chattanooga, from the east at Camp Jordan in the City of East Ridge, to where it meets the Tennessee River along the Tennessee Riverpark. Canoeists, kayakers and fishermen can enjoy 13 miles of continuous creek with multiple public access points.

Best Access Points

Camp Jordan in East Ridge, S. Chickamauaga Creek Greenway entrance on Bonny Oaks Drive, the Sterchi Farm public park on Old Harrison Pike and the Tennessee Riverpark.

How to Get There

From TN Riverpark:
From I-75 north or south, exit Hwy. 153 North. Exit at Amnicola Hwy. toward Downtown Chattanooga. Enter the TN Riverpark at the Riverpoint entrance. The boat launch is at creek level.

From Sterchi Farm.
From I-75 north or south, exit Hwy. 153 North. Exit at Amnicola Hwy. toward Downtown Chattanooga. Take the first left at Access Rd., then right onto Old Harrison Pk. When Old Harrison Pk. turns left to cross S. Chickamauga Creek, turn left to enter the Sterchi Farm park.

Pet Friendly Notes

Most of the property along the creek is private. Camp Jordan and Sterchi Farm park are both pet friendly. The TN Riverpark does not allow pets, though pets may be brought to the boat launch.
