Renaissance Park

Town or County Park

ADA Accessibility Notes

Renaissance Park is ADA accessible. All boardwalks may be accessed via ramps.

Renaissance Park is a recovered industrial area that was dedicated as a City of Chattanooga park in 2008. It is located between the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga and Cherokee Blvd. on the North Shore. The 28 acre park includes wetlands, native grasses, hiking/biking trails and a covered pavilion.

The park was puposely designed with ecological recovery in mind. Two large berms cap topsoil that was removed from the former Roper manufacturing site and a system of native plants and natural filters remove toxins from urban stormwater runoff before effluent flows into the TN River.

How to Get There

From U.S. 27 North through downtown Chattanooga, cross the TN River and exit at Manufacturer's Rd. Turn right onto Manufacturer's Rd. Travel approx. 1/2 mile. The entrance to Renaissance Park is on the right. Park in the lot and walk toward the river to enjoy the park.

Pet Friendly Notes

Renaissance Park is pet friendly on leash.

Recreational Opportunities

The Renaissance Park berms can be climbed to get a scenic viewpoint of downtown Chattanooga. Boardwalks and walkways mimic historic features of the area. The park walkways connect to the Tennessee Riverpark, a paved, 8-mile greenway that connects to the south shore and Chickamauga Dam upstream.

Other park amenities include a small amphitheater, tiered seating along the wetland, historic markers and several public art installations. An outdoor pavilion with rest room facilities may be rented for private functions through the City of Chattanooga.
