Eco-Friendly Notes

Prizer Point starts the camping and boating season in an eco-friendly way by celebrating Earth Day. Children and adults alike enjoy learning about Earth Day by taking part in activities that help us all remember the importance of caring for our planet.

Locally or Family Owned Business Notes

In July of 2000, Greg and Lisa Batts were interested in buying a marina. They had purchased a pontoon boat and it had changed their view of the world. It was a place where they and their children could relax, laugh and play.

On a visit to Prizer Point, they got a condo. As their children dropped off to sleep, and the sun began to set, they relished in the view which included barges, boats, and birds. Prizer Point needed some work, but it had potential and was reasonably priced.

On October 6, 2000, the Batts officially became owners of Prizer Point Marina & Resort, LLC. Their goal was to have a place where kids were not only welcome, but were given plenty of opportunity to enjoy themselves.

The couple divided up the jobs, and the child raising responsibilities. Lisa took on the housekeeping for the first five seasons. Greg took over most of the other areas of the marina. Lisa did most of the kid watching, taking them with her as she was cleaning units. When able, they alternated so when one was working the other was with the kids.

Seventeen-years later, things are better than ever and growing like crazy. From mid-March to mid-November, Prizer Point is the most happening resort on the Tennessee River.

Welcome to Prizer Point Resort and Marina, home to the new Prizer Lagoon a Water Playground with giant inflatables, state of the art ropes course and zipline over Lake Barkley.
