Point Mallard Park
Point Mallard Park is a 750-acre municipal park providing year round recreation facilities in Decatur, Ala. Come play 18 holes on one of the South‘s best golf courses, stay in our 25-acre, wooded campground, visit America's first wave pool at our seasonal Waterpark, and cool off in the indoor ice skating rink.
Point Mallard's additional facilities include tennis courts, batting cages, a 3 mile hiking/jogging/biking trail, and a driving range. Each year, Point Mallard Park is the host site for several events such as the SoulStock Christian Music Festival, the Alabama Jubilee Hot-Air Balloon Classic, Spirit of America Festival, Greater Tennessee Valley Antique Car Show, and Battle for Decatur Civil War Reenactment
The Point Mallard Campground is a year round campground offering 239 sites on 25 wooded acres. The campground offers free wi-fi, a laundry facility, dump station, a grocery store, three covered pavilions with restrooms and showers, an enclosed meeting facility, kids playground, and grills. The campground is walking distance to the golf course, soccer fields, tennis courts, water park, and the Ice Complex.
The Point Mallard Waterpark is home to America’s first wave pool and also offers hours of fun with a lazy river, a Pro Bowl slide, scenic lagoon, speed slides, three flume tube rides, an Olympic pool, sandy beach with complimentary beach loungers, and a Kids area featuring the Squirt Factory and Duck Pond.
Located on the Tennessee River and Flint Creek and surrounded by 200 acres of wooded flatlands, the Point Mallard Golf Course is open daily, has a USGA rating of 73.1 (based on a par of 72) and a slope rating of 124.
The Point Mallard Ice Complex is open year-round for public skating and is home to the Point Mallard Ducks, Alabama’s first and only junior hockey team.
