Paris and Henry County have a long history of welcoming visitors from all over the world. Paris Landing State Park, was created in 1945 and, along with other resorts, quickly became a mecca for fishing, boating, camping and dining. Soon after, the Chamber of Commerce was opened in the mid-50s, the World’s Biggest Fish Fry was born. For decades it has been one of Tennessee’s premier annual festivals drawing tens of thousands of visitors. In recent years, the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge opened its state of the art Visitor Center near Kentucky Lake, filling a need for environmental education and interpretation activities for visitors and locals, alike. With the addition of the this center, more hikers, paddlers, birders and nature photographers seemed to follow.

Although locals are always ready to “head to the lake,” Historic Downtown Paris is the crown jewel of Paris, Tennessee. A Tennessee Main Street Community, it boasts exciting shopping and dining at stores and restaurants that thrive in their inspiring buildings, many of which date to the early 1900s. Exciting events are held throughout the year. For those who enjoy classic cars, local cooking, live music, catfish races, sidewalk art, Halloween fun, parties in cool alleys, sidewalk sales, Christmas parades or visits with Santa, you have found your happy place.

We look forward to welcoming you in person to Paris, Henry County and the Lake Area.
