Overlook Trail
Starting at the Watauga Dam Reservation overlook, this short loop trail offers fabulous views of the Cherokee National Forest and can link you to the Appalachian Trail that crosses Watauga Dam. A beautiful destination about 30 miles east of Johnson City, Tennessee.

A wide, gravel path leads you around the mountain providing fabulous views of the Cherokee National Forest, and Watauga Dam and its unique spillway. This half-mile loop trail joins the Appalachian Trail via a short connecting trail and allows hikers to cross over Watauga Dam.
