Whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River in Tennessee – James Becker

The Tennessee River Valley is an outdoor recreation wonderland. Our millions of acres of public lands and hundreds of miles of waterways offer visitors multiple recreational opportunities throughout the year. The region features rivers, streams, beautiful lakes, wildlife management areas, state parks, and federal parks offering four seasons of recreational activities for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, bird watching, kayaking, boating, fishing, hunting, biking, and climbing are all popular activities for visitors.

Exploring is part of the fun, but you can also search for pre-planned hikes, paddling adventures, or connect with outfitters who can guide you to some of the best locations in the region.

Hunting and fishing are also popular activities. Be sure to check on state regulations prior to your visit. The region is known for its wildlife and birding. ATV or Off-roading is allowed in many public land management areas or test your skills in one of the OHV parks.
