Old Gray Cemetery
Old Gray Cemetery (OGC) founded in 1850 was planned along the lines of the Rural Garden Cemetery Movement. We serve as a park and conservator of historical, biographical, and genealogical data. Along with our horticulture and conservation we are also preserving the history of Knoxville through the art and architecture of the stones and monuments. Among our educational annual events for the community are the Hunt for History, Dogwood Arts Festival open gardens, Poetry Contest, and the Lantern and Carriage Tour that first began in 2001. The Lantern and Carriage Tour is held the last Sunday in September.
