With Clear Creek and Daddy's Creek tributaries, the Obed river flows from Crossville, Tennessee to the Emory River. Visitors can enjoy a variety of hikes, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and camping. The river not only offers breathtaking scenic views, but also serves as a habitat for threatened and endangered fish. The Obed Wild and Scenic River Area is managed by the National Park Service and the TWRA. ECO-FRIENDLY NOTES Follow Leave No Trace practices.
The Visitor Center is located at 208 North Maiden Street in downtown Wartburg. The hours of operation are from 9:00-5:00 pm (Eastern time). The visitor center is closed on Thanksgiving, December 25, and January 1.
