Located near Elkmont, AL, this Small Wild Area is a favorite layover for migratory birds and those that love to see them. The flat, ADA accessible trail and boardwalk travels through a variety of habitats with an abundance of wildlife.

Marbut Bend is a TVA trail, located on Wheeler Lake in Alkmont, Alabama. Grab a portable chair before heading out on this trail. Once you get to the boardwalk find a place to sit and watch the wetland for a bit – don’t forget to look up. In the fall and spring this area is full of migrating waterfowl. Keep your eyes open as you might see a beaver or a bobcat hunting for a meal.
