This small, but attractive, downtown park is a delightfully perfect place to eat a takeout lunch from one of the cafes on the old town square.
Formerly this site was the depot and staging area for several railroads that hauled timber and agricultural products to and from Tishomingo County. Long trains still pass through, but sadly, no longer stop as they make their long hauls of coal, oil and road building materials. On the square facing Jay Bird Park is The Front Street Snack Bar, which displays a panoramic picture of the high activity along the rail line during the early 1900s (Ford motorcars and trucks abound).
Railroad watchers have made numerous You Tube videos from Jaybird Park.

Also facing Jay Bird Park is the Cafe Memories and just two blocks away is the Olde Courthouse Museum.
GeoCachers Note: There is a GeoCache at this site (TrainWatchers).
