Accessible. Look Rock Tower trail is paved, but very steep.

The Foothills Parkway, west, is a scenic drive along the crest of Chilhowee Mountain, from Walland to Chilhowee Lake. Along the 18 mile road are views of the Great Smoky Mountains to the SE and the Ridge and Valley to the NW. There are numerous pulloffs, a 1/2 mile paved hiking trail to Look Rock Tower, a campground and picnic area. Part of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the route offers wildlife viewing, natural beauty, stargazing, sunrises and sunsets, and a chance to see almost the entire range of the Smokies. Air quality instruments and a Park Service web cam are located at Look Rock Tower.

Pet Friendly Notes

Pets on leash at pull offs, campground, picnic area. No pets on the trail.

Hiking, camping, picnicking, wildlife observation, scenic drive.

All seasons except road can be closed due to storms, trees down, ice, etc.
