FARMHOUSE Restaurant in Iuka
ADA Accessibility Notes
No stairs, wide doors, open floor plan with tables and booths.
The FARMHOUSE Restaurant in Iuka, Mississippi is a reincarnation of the original Iuka Homestead Restaurant, which was well known and loved in the Tishomingo County area. The original owner, Terry Vidal, is applying his energy, know-how and enthusiasm to the new enterprise. The daily lunch buffet is well attended by locals and first responders, with more than a few business meeting lunches in the separate dining room. The fried chicken has many faithful followers, especially on the Sunday noon buffet. Fried Catfish on Friday is a Tishomingo County Tradition! Evening menu includes ribeye steak cooked to order.
See their Facebook page for detailed daily menus. No reservations needed; sometimes there is a worthwhile short wait.
Terry Vidal: "Our chicken is not really special except that it is always fresh and cooked carefully at somewhat lower temperature and slower to insure thorough cooking without burning the breading. I guess you would call it double-breaded with our own blend of commonly used spices. WORKS FOR US!!"
Locally or Family Owned Business Notes
The owner, Terry Vidal, is a well known restaurateur, having moved to Iuka after his prosperous Homestead Restaurant in Homestead, Florida was blown totally away (along with the rest of the town) by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. He presently operates the Farmhouse Restaurant in Iuka and the seasonal Aqua Grill at the state line on Pickwick Lake. Terry is a very visible hands-on manager, moving from the cash register to the kitchen to wherever the business needs attention. Always a smile; "How was lunch today, folks?"; a very personal experience!
