East Tennessee Crossing Byway

Scenic Byways or Routes
East Tennessee Crossing along Highway 25 E – Linda Lewanski

ADA Accessibility Notes

Each stop has its own amenities and accessibility.

Known as the Cherokee Warriors' Path and Wilderness Road, this was a corridor for settlers moving into new lands. In the 1920s, the Byway was called Thunder Road, a stretch of road known for fast cars driven by moonshiners transporting their liquor. Follow the paths of the Cherokee Nation, Davy Crockett, Civil War Battles, crafts, quilts, farm fresh produce, fishing, canoeing and historic down-towns. The views of lakes, valleys, and Great Smoky Mountains are amazing. Unsurpassed scenery, a wealth of history and culture and unique adventures are yours to discover.
