Beautiful scenic float almost the entire state of Tennessee. Begins at Normandy Dam with numerous access sites along the river to the confluence with the Tennessee River. Upper reach below Normandy Dam has some small rapids and faster currents. Avoid the old mill dam at Courtner Mill. No public launch and no public portage. The river is primarily flatwater on the lower section. Fishing for trout and panfish is very popular. Expect heavy use on weekends and holidays during the recreation season.
