Dalton Freight Depot
ADA Accessibility Notes
ADA Accessible - visitors may park in handicapped parking at the north end of the depot to access the platform and entrance.
Visitors can enjoy the Dalton area visitors center and gift shop located within the 1911 Southern Railways Freight Depot. Restored in 2009 the Depot also includes exhibits from the Civil War and early Railroad eras. Train fans can enjoy the train viewing platform where the main lines for both the CSX and Norfolk-Southern Railways pass and cross on a diamond pattern in front of the Depot. Dozens of trains pass by daily and you can use the Depot's computerized ATSC system to view trains as they approach Downtown Dalton.
How to Get There
I-75 Exit 333 - Go east on Walnut Avenue for 2 miles, turn left on Thornton Avenue, turn right on Cuyler Street - Depot is 3 blocks straight ahead next to railroad tracks - follow green and yellow visitor information signs for additional directions.
