Cooley Cemetery Trail is located on TVA's Guntersville Reservoir in Northern Alabama. If you want to develop some endurance this is a good trail to do it whether on foot or on a mountain bike. The trail is also open to horseback riders. The terrain here varies, but most of the trail runs adjacent to the lake where you can find many great fishing spots. There are scenic views of the reservoir from several higher sections. If hiking in spring or fall, you'll enjoy the abundance of wildflowers that can be found along the trail. There are also some unique historical features here including two standing chimneys, the remnants of old home sites that were in existence before the dam was built.

For a longer adventure, find a remote camping spot and make a weekend of it. Areas farther along the trail are open to regulated hunting.
