We want to encourage you to pick-up litter around your home, local park, Clarks River National Wildlife Refuge, and/or your neighborhood. Participate and get entered to win prizes!

The teamwork performed through the day develops friendships. – sHayden/USFWS

Every February refuge staff along with community members, students, scouts, and volunteers gather on a Saturday to clean-up the Clarks River National Wildlife Refuge and the surrounding community.

This year will look a little different, but the end result will be the same- less litter on the land and in our community!

Participate and get entered to win prizes! Take a picture(s) of your family/friends during the clean-up and post it to our facebook event page or text it to 270-493-6196 or send via. email Submissions are due by Sunday, 2/21, at 5 PM. The winners will be contacted on Tuesday 2/23.

If you need supplies (trash bags, gloves, trash grabbers) or need help selecting a location to pick-up litter please call or text: 270-493-6196 or via. Email

We encourage you and your friends/family to dress for the weather. Layers works good because you will warm up as you move around and walk. We encourage everyone to wear hunter orange (vest or hat or both) if you do not have any hunter orange, we encourage you to wear bright colors such as yellow. The ground is usually muddy and/or wet, so rubber boots are strongly encouraged. We also want to remind you if you are participating in this virtual clean up with family, friends, and other loved ones, please remember to keep a safe social distance, wear a mask, and stay home if you feel sick.
