Benton-Houston Ferry
The ferries (tugs and barges) are owned by the State of Tennessee and operated by River Marine Service, Inc., located in Clarksville, Tennessee. The contractor operates the ferries 365 days per year, weather permitting.
The Benton-Houston Ferry is one of only two ferries in the state and considered the last ferry operating on the Tennessee River. This ferry is more than just a river boat, its a part of local life. It travels across the Tennessee River between Benton and Houston counties. Many locals rely on the ferry service to get to work. Many visitors enjoy the ride on the water to visit the nearby Southernaire Motel and Restaurant which is well known for its delicious country cooking like white beans and cornbread. Where ever you are going, the stunning panorama of the river is one of the most beautiful views you will find in the area!
