Experience both rapids and flatwater. Scenic gorges and flatland forests. Waterfalls and bluffs. Wide diversity in vegetation. Spring wildflowers including big leaf magnolia, native azaleas, and mountain laurel. TVA has recreational releases on weekends starting Memorial Day through Labor Day. Check schedule at here. Two dangerous falls must be portaged.

Upper section- Hy 5 bridge in the town of Bear Creek. Hy 172 at Mill Creek near town of Bear Creek. Rock Quarry on Hy 172. Bear Creek Canoe Run on Hy 43. Miltary Bridge on Co. Road 53 off Hy 172 west of Hackleburg. Scott Bridge Hy 187 north of Hodges and south of Belgreen.
Lower section - Red Bay City park. Golden Bridge. Tishomingo State Park. Old Hy 30. Natchez Trace Parkway. Steel bridge off Co. Rd 1 near Allsboro. Hayes Landing off Margerum Road.
