Locally or Family Owned Business Notes
The Hardin family (Bobby, MaryAnn, Brian and Mike) opened Country and Western Steakhouse on Labor Day in 1980. With the passing of his father and brother, Mike ran the restaurant with assistance from his mother, MaryAnn, until 2016 when he decided it was time from them to retire. A local doctor and his wife could not fathom the thought of this local landmark closing down. Dr. Roy Dedmon and his wife Dee purchased the restaurant from the Hardin's before the doors ever closed. Since she was 16 years old, Wanda Ferguson has worked at Country and Western Steakhouse. On any given day, you can catch Wanda, now the manager, at the restaurant taking orders, making drinks, and handing out a lot of smiles and southern hospitality.
